The tradition of making orange wine harkens back over 5,000 years to the birthplace of viticulture in modern-day Georgia (the country, not our fair state). Originally named amber wines, the landscape of these beauties—also called to as 'skin-contact,' in reference to the vinification process—is as stylistically varied as it is colorful. Each of these winemakers draws on age-old techniques with modern-day tools to harness all the characteristics of their respective terroir.
